Tiny, a calico kitten, had bad luck early in life, as she was thrown from the window of a car by someone who didn't want her and didn't care how they got rid of her. Lucky for her, she soon landed at the West Suburban Humane Society. As a no kill shelter, WSHS provides a safe haven for many animals like Tiny, waiting to be matched up with new families. Kodiak, an older cat with a loving nature, also took up residence at WSHS when he lost his family. Allowed to roam the shelter, he soon captivated a new family, even though they were looking for a much younger cat. Many people feel they have to adopt a young cat or kitten. But healthy indoor cats can easily live to 18 or 20 years of age. So a 10 year old cat has lots of living still to do! WSHS is a lifeline for both animals and people, enriching the lives of both.
