This is me, Jonathan Siahaan, playing in a classical music competition shown on the danish tv channel "DR2" called "Spil for livet", 2007. The judges are: pianist, Marie Rørbech, Composer Halfdan E, and violinist Kim Sjøgren.

  • Jonathan, Mandy is being way too pedantic - I doubt she plays this piece as we do. Only on the A-flat chord before the E Major section is the rubato overdone - your phrashing throughout is exquisite. The eye movement comment is bizarre - your physical comportment is ideal, a tasteful response to the music's ebb and flow. Clean arppeggios and a big sound without banging enhance the performance. Bravo! My reaction to Lang Lang is complicated, but he can be vulgar, and Mandy does have a point.

  • Very nice playing! But the piano sounds like shit :D

  • @lovegould The piano is a Steinway, so it's probably not the piano.

  • Gran lirismo y profundamente expresivo! Gracias por compartir tu arte. Maravilloso!

  • what is he surprised at?

  • Great job on a very gorgeous piece of music, but why were you wearing jeans to play this kind of music? It deserves better--at least khakis and dress shoes!

  • verry verry nice. to be honnest bether than evgeny kissin xD ( i dont like kissins fast loud thempo. ) this is the second place for me after lang lang :)

  • i find it very interesting that Clara Schumann detested this version that Liszt made of the wedding gift Robert made for her. She later wrote her own piano solo transcription of it, making it much more simple then what Liszt had done

  • Very, very beautiful playing. Bravo!

  • excellent

  • @damgoodballers most expensive ive seen was a bechstein, but then again it was Franz Liszts bechstein in his home in Weimar. but i agree, steinways are beautiful pianos.

  • STUNNING!
