This was one of those shows that was way ahead of its time , the concept was brilliant and it had so much potential . instead of rebooting a shallow series like Knight Rider , this is was the one they should have explored.

The show was born from a failed pilot called Dr Scorpion, and NBC approached Cannell to come up with a 9 o'clock show. He came up with Stingray, which leant much of its style from MTV and Miami Vice. Initially the pilot was not picked up as a show, At the end of series one in was axed only be resurrected due to high demand. The filming was moved to Canada to save on cost. NBC really dropped the ball as far as this show is concerned. It was so different from the usual shows.

Too cerebral for most audiences ! I mean the guy didn't want money and he wasn't a violent guy so that means that a lot of people wouldn't like it. ( not enough action, not enough shit blowing up etc.) Personally, I think this series was effing brilliant and I wish that many more seasons had been made.
