Paul DeLay Tribute- Dozens of Portland's top musicians gathered on the stage of the Portland Art Museum to honor Paul DeLay, whose sudden death shocked the national music community. Paul was a foundation of the Northwest's vibrant blues scene.
A thousand fans crowded the art museum's auditorium to hear Paul's former bandmates - from three decades of music - honor his memory with sadness and joy.

First, Thank you to the poster of this vid, plproduction. Second, no comment yet states the magnificant quality of DeLay's singing and songwriting. Beyond words. Third, Paul was my favorite living WHITE BLUES HARMONICA player in his time. He is one of the most influential -- to me -- of anyone. His virtuosity is not lost on any of the commeners so far. Obviously, all of us who heard him live, met him or knew him are aware he is possibly the most unknown of any of the post -1970's greats.
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking at length with Paul. A fine man and a one of kind harp player. I will miss his music and his contribution to the music world. Rest in Peace Paul.
Hey great sound quality...really captured Paul...first time I've seen an image of the imfamous Guido the Blues Torpedo in 25 years!...James, I just love the Flame Strat..you always were a class act..Super Class AAA! I'd give my left nut to hear you play live with Paul again. Hey and whats the story with all the old guys in suits? As for the Big Palooka, well, I'm 8000 miles fom ptown and my life wont ever be the same again.. a enormous loss not only for Portland, but for the world of Music
My son Taylor and I, along with our friend JC Rico (one of the performers) were there. A wonderful evening of love, laughter, and tears. Lovely conversation with Paul's daughter. Thank you to Dave Kahl for putting this beautiful night together. Love from MamaC,Christine
As one who knew and loved Paul as friend, as inspiration, and as validation, I can only say thank you. The degree of separation, for those involved in setting the standard by which the Portland blues scene is measured is minimum -- a one or a two -- and is well represented in this tribute. Again, thanks for this gift.
