How do I go about accumulating the experience and gear I need when I don't really have either of them for the gigs that would allow me to get them?

@MrRgx521 You have 2 options, dont do it, or do it. Some pros did it with 40d. Its obv his gear is not the amateurs beginners one, but well, we need to start. Someone said that the best equipment you will ever have, is the one you have right now. Ergo, just do it. Regards.

Great video, thanks. I'm doing a family wedding later this year. Currently got a D90 + 18-105 kit lens. Do you think a 70-300 f4.5/5.6 zoom wd be a good addition? What recommendation wd u suugest on which flash kit to use, as I don't have one at all as yet?

btw. never done a wedding. have one scheduled for march 10th for a friend's cousin. Glad to know the belt setup is effective. I had seen one recently in a store but the lady trying to sell it to me was mum on the details. what brand is that lens-changing bag? that is definitely something i want to buy. thanks for the video. i do mainly portraits and commercial work, your video has been very informative in terms of logistics. cheers.

Hey Matt,

The stuff I'm packing for weddings are:

Canon 500D (soon will be expanded with the Canon 7D or Mark 5D depending on how patient I am haha)

Canon 17-40 L

Canon 50 f1.8

Sigma 70-200

Canon speedlite 580EX II

I find wedding are good fun to do. Make sure you hit it off with the couple and just have fun over the course of the day.

And i agree it helps to get in a "friend" role while doing weddings!
