@hotrodhigh63 BTW..the irony is Bruce J. was with the BBs since the 60s. He took a brief time away, I think, and wrote a song called, "I Write the Songs". It ended up winning a Grammy. Barry Manilow sung it. It was huge. Too bad he didn't give it to the BBs. Mike Love would always make a sarcastic joke of it when he would introduce Bruce during a concert. Brian Wilson gave Jan & Dean a #1 seller, "Surf City"....lol....he should have given that to the BBs too.

ok uhm you fail "custom machine" was by bruce (johnston) and Terry (melcher) of THE BEACH BOYS!

@KokomoRose Bruce was indeed later in The Beach Boys, and Terry Melcher did help write/produce some Beach Boys stuff in the 80's+. Indeed you are right, but Bruce & Terry were NOT The Beach Boys ;) Thank you for the comment though.

lol. There may have been NO Beach Boys and Jan and Dean songs on this..but who is kidding who.
Somebody was copying somebody. Either the BBs and J&D were stealing from all these lesser known groups, or the other way around.

@topgeardel Yeah, they all "borrowed" from each other from what I have gathered from talking to Dean Torrence.
Just a note on why there is no Jan & Dean or Beach Boys in this top 10. It's because everyone knows who these are and I just want to let people see some other artists who were doing a simlar thing.
