Yeah well "duh" is all I have to say about this! Or maybe not... Marijuana/Cannabis/Hemp is beneficial for many reasons. Marijuana has healing purpose for things like pain, depression, high blood pressure, coughing, anxiety, and many more. Hemp can be used to create over 25,000 products including construction supplies (Studs, drywall, beams), vitamins, oil, safe fuel, replace paper products, etc. Hemp is the strongest natural fiber on earth. It is as strong as steel. Should I even mention that if our crop farmers were to grow it with their crops within one year our nutrient depleted soil would be replenished 100%.

The reason cannabis was made illegal is due to many reasons, but mostly because DuPont saw it as a threat to the oil industry, so DuPont lobbied politicians to ban it. In fact, Henry Fords first car was made from hemp and ran on hemp fuel and oil. It is a sad fact that at one time hemp helped our economy thrive and would do so again if it were made legal. Another sad fact is that although it is deemed as a evil drug and gateway drug, it was banned because of those reason. The truth is that those claims were made to make parents hate this amazing plant for the purposes of keeping it banned. The forefathers of America even wrote on the importance of cannabis and even grew it themselves. Ron Paul is actually a candidate who understands this, from a medical point of view and an economical and historical point of view.

Oh and by the way, there is no proof it causes psychosis!

@798unionpipeliner if your refering to the study on monkeys 20 years ago.. then you should realy do follow up research. they performed it on monkeys and pumped 60 joints a day into them through a gas mask which didnt allow oxygen in only smoke so the monkeys had brain damaged becasue they suffocated the monkeys...

3. the whole drug war discriminates against inner city minorities. blacks make up only 14% of the people in the U.S who use drugs yet 63% of the people whom are thrown into jail because of drugs are black. yes the white guy everybody keeps calling racist is the only one that brings this up.

1. its a complete waste of money because it really hasnt prevented anybody from doing anything that they dont want to do

2. politicians, gvmnt agency's and dirty cops are making BOAT loads of money from it because when anything is made illegal there is always a black market in which the gvmnt or corporations backing the gvmnt can swoop in and profit from it. conspiracies like "fast and furious" arise
