I met John Lennon that day, March 1, 1975 at the pree awards dinner at the Americanna Hotel. I was a 19 year old long haired freak. I never got to see this on tv, Iwas outside the Uris Theater freezing my ass off. Just think an hour earlier I shook Johns hand. SooooooooLongAgoooooooo!

Anytime you see Lennon on camera you know you'll be entertained. He was so quick w/ a quip that you just shake your head and laugh.

@educatedrock Well, I don't know if I would call it "cool" when John Lennon made the off-the-cuff comment, treating Art as if he was Paul McCartney with that "Where's Linda?" quip. I personally don't think John was known for being subtle to begin with - it is just more like him. Especially knowing that Macca was nominated for best duo/group category (and won) that evening as well. I had always wondered if Macca was in the audience when this was happening....

4:06 and on, read between the subtle/ off-the-cuff comments made. Art gives a smart as comment, Lennon is aghast and pipes up and makes a comment about Paul Macartney saying Where's Linda, oh well to subtle that one.  Very Cool, to bad that song beat out Joni or Elton.
