@vaprsnake21 Haha true. I mean you need to have done a fair amount of abstract algebra to start getting to the meat of the song.

Don't take it bad, dude. He's right, most of the math jokes in that song are pretty advanced for high school students, those things are for college level. I seriously doubt that the girl on the very left can understad all of that... Except if she's from a high gifted secret school in North Corea or some shit like that hahahahahaha.
Any way, good for you if you like math!, keep it like that!

Holly crap!.. Yeah!.. I felt the same way hahahaha
-
I highly doubt outside of it being "math" and some of it algebra that you had knowledge of most of the topics mentioned. Google doesn't count, either.
-
Cool stuff. I'd be surprised if a high school girl knew more than I do if only because of age difference (I'm a little over a year into Michigan's math grad program), but I guess you never know.
Anyway, if you guys actually understood all that stuff when in high school, I'm impressed. I took a lot of math in HS, but I certainly didn't didn't know about differential forms ("drove a wedge between our 2-forms") or algebraic topology / the fundamental group ("simply connected").

actually, it WAS our idea.. and we certainly knew what we were singing about. the girl on the very left could probably kick your ass at abstract algebra any day ;)
and yeah, bummer the audience didn't get more of the jokes, but we made sure there was at least one math teacher present who could appreciate the text =)

Either they have no emotion to speak of, or they don't get the jokes.
-
..intonation is way out.
-
I dunno. I mean, it was cool, but I prefer the original. I don't think that their voices were very adapted to the musical style. And yeah, a lot of the puns fell way flat.
-
Whose idea was it to sing this anyway? I'm guessing not the kids, on the basis that they almost certainly don't understand all the stuff they're singing. Must have been a weird experience all around - like singing in another language or something.
This was performed at a high school talent show? LOL at the audience only laughing at the puns/jokes related to arithmetic operators and elementary properties of numbers/functions.
Not the best choice for a high school, no one will understand the song, as demonstrated from the audience response (every single line in the song is a pun in some way). To a high school student, all of mathematics is contained within a TI-89 calculator, or 83 (plus, if you like). Again, lawl.
