Celebration for
Dr. Liu XiaoBo, the Chinese Tiananmen Democracy and Charter 08 organizer who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2010!!!

We Protest against the tyranny of the Chinese government's jailing of Liu XiaoBo and many other prisoners of conscience who are now in Chinese prisons!

Today, December 10th, is International Human Rights Day, and the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony Day in Oslo, Norway in honor of Dr. Liu XiaoBo.
It is a worldwide special day about human rights. At the University of Washington, we held an event at Red Square on the UW campus to collect the petition signatures for release of prisoners of consciences by the Chinese government. They are Dr. Liu XiaoBo, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient of 2010; and Beijing Spring Chinese magazine founder, Dr. Wang BingZhang; the students who were arrested during the 1989 Tiananmen Democracy Movement in Beijing; and, all those who are still detained by the Chinese government.

We also joined the UW Human Rights Day celebration at the Law School where many students and professors signed the petition -- "Free 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Recipient Dr. Liu XiaoBo and Beijing Spring Magazine founder Wang BingZhang!".
Many people generously donated to support the release of Liu XiaoBo at the event.
The pictures represent just a few of the numerous people who were signing the petition. Many others strongly supported Chinese human rights and the release of Dr. Liu XiaoBo and Dr. Wang BingZhang.

We sincerely hope the Chinese government can hear our voice to release Liu XiaoBo and Dr. Wang BingZhang and all other prisoners of consciences from Chinese detention soon.

Prior to our Chinese Human Rights event, we had a little difficulty in contacting the right person for permission at the University of Washington. However, with the help and effort of different departments' at the University our event was accomplished very timely and successfully.
We would like to especially thank Mr. Norman G. Arkand, Associate Vice President in University of Washington Media Relations and Communications; Ms. Janis Marks, Administrative Assistant of Office of the President.

We also would like to thank the UW Center of Human Rights for their support and for announcing our presence at the International Human Rights day event in the evening event at the Law School.

We very much appreciate Amnesty International and all other organizations who participated in the support of all Human Rights, Chinese Human Rights, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Liu XiaoBo! Thank You All!
