it doesn't matter how great or horrible the music was, people that grew up with it are always gonna say, "this is REAL music" albeit The Clash, The Spice Girls, Lisa Loeb or Depeche Mode....most people don't have the ability to distinguish between nostalgic feelings & what's just good, timeless music.

The music business over the past 20 years has just embraced mediocrity. I guess at some point they decided; hey, the singer is monotoned, the band isn't very good, but they do play really fast, so we'll just put it out, and see if it passes for music. Low, and behold the masses embraced crap! I'm not saying their aren't a few really good musicians/bands around these days. But they never get played on the radio. Don't go hating on the music of the 90's; nobody forced you to embraced crap.

I read a bumper sticker a while back which I totally related to... It read, "IT'S NOT THAT I'M OLD, YOUR MUSIC REALLY DOES SUCK!!!" It just seems like the quality of the music in the world of what is popular has been in a downward spiral for the past 20 years. I guess this is what happens when you take music programs out of schools.

@astronautagogo Hey but you gotta admit this song was pretty damn good! Songs in the 80s and 90s era were very strong lyrically and vocally compared to the songs we have nowadays. But the beats are better and more exciting here in the 21st century. :)

I still hate Limp Bizkit and Hansons, so I doubt nostalgia played that big a role in determining good music. xD
