Everyone is a little shy, especially on the first day of a new situation! It's just that some people are better actors then others. You can be that to! Just look the part. Act like you are confident and you're all that. And when you look confident you will start to feel confident. It's all in the attitude. Also, find a friendly person, one that exudes warmth and kindness. There are usually at least one of these people in every school or work place. Then at lunch, find this person again and ask to sit down. Of course he/she will say yes. And you will be introduced to everyone at the table. Be a great listener. Remember what they say so you have something to talk about next time. And above all, stand tall and have great eye contact. Also, try to remember as many names as you can on the first day!

  • Brooklynjinx--If the person starts talking about something you can relate to, throw out a comment. For instance, if he/she talks about a restaurant, say something like, "I've heard they've got great grouper there, I've been meaning to try it. I love fish." You get the idea. Also, if you get to be close friends with someone, and you feel comfortable with that person, don't hesitate to ask for an opinion or use them as a sounding board if you have a problem.

  • A warm friendly person? I've worked in places where there WAS no such person! So I learned to be a bitch.

  • @TheHealthyperson96 Idiot!!!! Why would you make such a stupid remark for someone who is trying to help? Get a life, seriously!
