UND CFI Anthony Bottini guides you through the necessary steps and procedures that must be followed to fly a safe, UND Aerospace-standardized Non-precision Approach procedure in the UND Garmin 1000-equipped Cessna 172. "Ed. 2" includes changes to pilot callouts made on the UND standardized profile for the Non-precision Approach. A huge thanks goes out to Dr. Harro Heilmann from Stuttgart, Germany for his amazing in-flight photos of different German castles as well as some great shots of the Matterhorn summit!

  • What exactly does the large visor accomplish? I realize it limits your vision, but how much?

  • @thedreamliner2012 It is kind of the more 'old school' method for simulating IFR in the airplane vs newer devices like "foggles" etc. Its tried and true though, and does a great job limiting the student's view to just the instrument panel. In fact, if worn properly, it really does a good job limiting your periphery as well. Its as close as you can get to 'actual' when there's no cloud to be found.

  • The continuous over-politically-correct referral to female pilots is extremely irritating.

  • @undaerocast Cool. That makes sense. Thanks for the quick feedback :)

    Finger trouble.

    Sorry

  • Brilliant totorial.

    Presenter is first class.

Please, please, please get rid of the music it adds no value whatsoever.

    Thanks for posting this

  • Very interesting. Non-precision approach practices were a BEAST when I did my IFR trg. here in Calgary. At least I got good practice in actual conditions because the fucking snow wouldn't stop for six months.
