A Small Step towards a Big Leap...

As the old saying goes, in the midst of difficulty lies the opportunity, Humera, a small village girl discovered a brilliant way to tackle with a common problem that she and children around her were facing -- their parents did not know English. These zealous children, students of Vidya Prabhat School, Bajpur, (a small village in Uttarakhand) wanted their parents to learn how to talk in English. Looking at the eagerness and enthusiasm of these children, Educomp R&D embarked on an initiative. The team of Educomp R&D, together with facilitators of Vidya Prabhat School, espoused the social cause of teaching the parents how to speak in English. A programme was set off whereby children became the torchbearers and took the responsibility of making their parents learn English. With the guided assistance of their facilitators, these children taught a new set of words to their parents every day. These words were selected in order to make the parents learn conversational English and objects, places, things that they came across in their day-to-day life. The response received from the parents was impeccable which demonstrated a true example of the maxim, 'You are never too old to learn'.
In the words of R.F. Kennedy, "Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope", the children at Vidya Prabhat School have set forth an exemplar. Just as a tiny seed gives birth to a new plant, these young minds and hearts have began a journey to bring about a difference to many a lives -- a difference that will eventually lead to a social change -- it's just the beginning!

  • To address the need of rural youth, we have founded SSISM at Sandalpur town near Indore, MP. The institute which is in operation since summer of 2010 currently provides the graduate courses in arts, commerce, management and science. This is government recognized and affiliated with the Vikram University, Ujjain. While the fundamental objective is to provide quality education to the rural youth in the vicinity, our vision is to use this institute as a vehicle to complete transformation.
