Samsung Series 7 Slate Review

The Samsung Series 7 Slate is a Windows 7 tablet with a touch screen and active digitizer with EMR pen. The tablet has an 11.6", 1366 x 768 display and it runs on a second gen ULV 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 CPU with 4 gigs of RAM. It comes with a 64 or 128 gig SSD, and it has WiFi as well as Bluetooth 3.0. The battery is sealed inside, and battery life averages 5 hours. The tablet weighs only 2 lbs. and is very slim.

@luminumx We haven't done it, but it's pretty standard Intel architecture and Wacom digitizer is the most prevalent. So changes are good.

@mutchinc Definitely go and grap EP121 (like I will do shortly here in Slovakia): if you main aim is DRAWING PICTURES/SKETCHES (like me), terhn definitely go and get Asus Slate EP121 cos it has absolutely no side efects and artefacts when you lay your hand on the screen and than using the pen...as you could see this Samsung Slate 7 has loooooot of probs about this issue... ;-)

@MobileTechReview Oh, sorry but how can you suggest rthis one over EP121 really??? Didn't you noticed what happens if you lay your hand first and than try to draw with that WACOM pen??? In EP121 THERE IS NO SUCH ISSUE AT ALL!!!!! So in terms of drawing (really if one want to buy such expensive slate tablet here then the only reason should realy be the sense of "much cheaper and portable Cintyq-like clone" with active digitiser pen - there is no other reason for buying this! ;-)

Whats the screen made of? gorrilla glass? if you press hard with the pen, does its tip get messed up? screen get imperfections from pushing the pen?

@jamesfuss although the Graphics are set, on the go gaming its not really about the graphics, its about the passing time and fun, just turn the GPU settings down.When your at home, a lan party, or a friends house, you bring a desktop or good laptop like I have.

Its an ok compromise, this thing is really nice, great for school! :D

eee pad transformer is way better because for the money you pay for the whole slate you can get the module(dock) which with the tablet and you also get an extra 11hrs !! of battery life .

and windows i think is still not meant for the tablet ,i would wait for the windows 8 some say it is similar the latest windows nokia lumina os .so i feel samsung has let down this time mainly on price and battery.

Have had my slate for several months now and every day I grow more attached to it. I have the 128GB model and expanded storage with a class 10 32GB micro SD card since they are going for about

1 per GB these days. I had the dock ordered but really have not felt I would need it. I would highly recommend getting some kind of stand for it ...
