Would you recommend the rw-1 or the ffg drop point smf for medium duty use and some beating on the knife but nothing insane

"hard use" or not, if it does not function as a knife should, and cut, what's the point? That beginning section where you try and carve the stick is absolutely pathetic. No knife should be that difficult to carve with, I don't care what its designed for, and on pine nonetheless. It looks like your trying to carve with a cheep blunt hatchet!

Мдеее )) ну и нож ))) Цена качество- реза просто смешно даже- просто какашка , а не ре3,- деньги на ветер, . Поточите хоть в другой раз

What am I talking about, it's SMF, not SmF.
Well, that what I learned in the last 10 days. Not bad.

I just realized, you're one of the few to type the model correctly. You must be "in the know."

Where is the hard test?

Strider rocks. Its a bet you life tough knife and worth its price IMO...In contrast , Sebenza doesnt want you to even flicking out their knives????
Did you re-profile the Strider?
It's tough as hell, but doesn't seem to cut too well. I just got my SnG and while I love it, the edge geometry needs A LOT of work.

Never reprifled this one really, just matched the factory edge angle.
One day I will get around to thinning out the edge. :)

I love testing expensive knives! May I ask, out of all your tests, which one cuts the best? (doesn't matter price, lock, material).

@oromoto
For pure cutting alone it would be the Manix and the AL, but the other knives were not reprofiled yet. The Manix had a 15 Degree per side Factory edge on it.

@jankerson1 i suppose it has to do with blade geometry, but the recon 1 barely shaved wood (the first test) it didn't look like it bit into the wood that much, was that how u felt?

@john1112112
It was the factory edge on the Recon 1 compared to a 40 degree inclusive on the Strider.
