@johnnyf19 Hmmm... well i don't know about what country u come from - but let's pick a case study.umm australia. Recently a nurse caused a fire in a nursing home causing the death (from suffocation) of 12 elderly people. It made national news.

I've also seen pictures in the news about how carers don't care that well for the elderly - many starved, and some had faeces all over their sheets. I doubt America would be much better, particularly how the government made cuts to these sector

@cssftw100 No actually, our elderly here still live an impressively good quality of life despite their age, even though we do not live with them. Yes my mother took care of me as a child, and I respect that, and I am obligated to take care of her when she gets older if she thinks she needs it. However, don't making judgmental calls, a lot of elderly here try to live independent of care from their children for as long as they can.

@cssftw100 We visit them and pay respect to them, and we help them out whenever they ask for our help, but outside of that we CHOOSE not to live in the same household, it has little to do with being evil, and more to do with being a more open society. Family, while still being an important focus, is not as close knit in America as it is in other places, and I honestly think you should respect that.

@cssftw100 I don't know what part of the world you come from, but in America we operate a little bit differently. See our older folks don't see it as abandoning them in a house by themselves as long as we keep in touch with them every once and a while. Gone are the days where parents and children lived together for years and years, families are now moving apart in America, and quite frankly the elderly here have no problem with that.
