a group of Canadian Sarctechs demonstrate the conveyor belt method of digging out an avalanche victim. In this secaniro 10 people dug out a buried pack down 2.5 metres in 11 minutes.
Though a simulation they portray a good sense of urgency.

  • Just one question,

How do they know how deep down the victim is in the first place?

  • @ajaxbrown

Of course before you start digging you must have a strike with the probe. The probe is either marked with graduations or figure out how long each section is and do the math. Remember don't start digging till you confirm with a probe.
