  • is there a difference between possum and opossum????

  • @XxEasternCobraxX No, there isn't. Some people say with and some say it without the o in the front.

  • '

can this baby oppossum be a good sweet pet at home,,,

same as ferret, hamster, rabbit, raccoon, rat

  • @bestamerica No hun, these are wild animals. It's not only illegal to keep them as pets, it would be cruel to them too. They need to be free.

  • @MissDolittle not some of those a ferret, hamster, and a rat I didn't really know it was a law to have a Wild animal as a pet don't people have monkeys as pets?

  • @brojack437 Monkeys fall under "exotic" pets and are legal to have in most cases. A permit is only needed when it's about wildlife that lives here too. Wildlife (which is still WILD) that does not live in this country is considered "exotic" and sold in most big pet stores :(. Many cities have ordinances against such animals though.

  • These mice are cute!

  • Respond to this video... Actually they are completely different animals - a possum is an Australian animal and an opossum is an American animal - they're not related other than both being marsupials. Some peope call opossums 'possums' though, but that's technically incorrect.

  • @XxEasternCobraxX A possum is an Australian animal, an opossum is an American animal. They are both marsupials but other than that they are pretty different - possums look like big chinchillas, have brown or grey fur and bushy tails, live for around 6 years, only have one baby at a time and are herbivores. Opossums look like big rats, have grey fur and a white face and a hairless tail, live for around 2 years, have around 13 babies at a time and are omnivores.

  • Theres so many babies.. why is there so many babies o_O lol the possums in aus only have 1 baby at a time not that many loool

  • @MissDolittle In regards to North America, there is no difference. If you include the rest of the world, in Australia a Possum is any of 70 or species of Possums which are marsupials but other than that not really related to the Opossum of North America. The most common types you'll find on YouTube if you look up "Possum" will be the Virginia Opossum which is filmed here, or "Short-Tailed" possums, which are from australia. Opossum is from the Algonquin word Apossoun, their name for the animal.

  • They foam for rabies. They make bubbles to play. And sneeze for their mothers.

  • Hi, i found an orphaned baby opossum..its been with me like a month and now i just started giving him milk on a small plate...she did something weird today, she was making like spit bubbles at her mouth, is this normal i should i start to get worried about something weird going on? JUST WONDERING IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

  • @bestamerica No problem!

  • meepymoof,

    '

    wow that is coool,,,

    thank explain,,,

same as ferret live is less 8 years

  • @bestamerica I have heard that they make wonderful pets. They use litter boxes and are very clean, among many other things. They have special dietary limits, however (then again, so do rabbits) and need much attention. Also, they are nocturnal. They are solitary animals, so you can only keep one. I've never owned one; I got this info from a few the web. I wouldn't keep a wild one, but still--they live 10 years as pets as opposed to 1 in the wild. I see no cruelty there. I can send a link to you!
