Hi, thanks for the question! The big catch phrase that actors/coaches go on about is "In the moment". If you start with an emotion and as a result of being "in the moment" you start feeling something else, then allow yourself to change, allow the emotion to evolve. The emotion that you start with should only prep you for the scene, being connected to the "Other" will determine where that initial emotion leads. Have fun & don't judge emotions, give them permission to exist. I hope this helps.

Thank you! :) Every tip helps haha but it's just such a hard thing to get in too! I don't have an agent =/ What are the chances of getting the part on an open audition? Slim, right? But then again even those are hard to find!
I would like to know is it ok to use accents in my cold read in a audition?

Hi. Totally fine to use an accent in your cold reads! The only hesitation is if your accent is not rock solid. If the accent isn't great, probably best not to show them this, instead go with your normal voice and use the time between audition and callback to brush up on the accent! :)

I would like to be in a play or something, but I don't have any money. I work pay check to pay check just to keep my apartment and everything. I don't have time for auditions and stuff like that. But, I'd really like to have an opportunity to do that.

Hi, if you can't afford to take an acting class, I recommend that you try and join a local theater company. Learn the ropes on the job. You'll probably start in small roles but that is good while you are learning. All the best and have fun!
