I filmed at 720P and then uploaded the direct file to youtube through the software that comes with the camera. I uploaded the full size video without allowing the software to compress it.

Did you have image stabilization turned on??

Yes, it was turned on. It seems to work ok but obviously when I was walking you could see it was a bit shaky.

just ordered mine, had to pick between the flip and this just like everyone else but the zi8 wins in every way, but 720 and 1080p dont make a difference to me infact I even put my 50" 720p samsung tv next to the exact one with 1080p, they were exactly the same

@Chaanee Or use some real stabilization software that actually works.

It's so shaky that it's a pain to watch it, but good for documentation if you film a robbery or something so you need to identify some people or so because the image is clear. Or, use a tripod of course.

They addes 1080p support about a month ago. To me YouTube 720p and 1080p looks the same.

Maybe the file was compressed by software before uploaded? Ive seen other 720p from Kodak Zi8 and they dont look as squary as this.

You gotta think and include the factors when seeing something like this.

A raw 720p file from camera viewed on PC is crystal clear, then u gotta ask urself why and how did it end up this squary on YouTube.

I also use the ZI8 for YouTube videos, but usually shoot in 720p, and the sound quality is fine, with the 1.06 firmware. (Zoom is also fixed in the firmware)

I have the zi8, the sound is great even without a mic, but you can get an external mic for it and it works even better. Get this camera!

I bought the zi8 3 weeks ago and uses and external stereo mic. The sound is very good. This feature was one of the reasons i bought this camera.

I wish to make my own video's and skits and i was wondering about the big issue of this make : sound

the purpose of this is so it can fit in a pocket. But i would'nt mind having an external mic to connect to it since its being used for proffesional filming purposes. For anyone who has this make: is the sound good with some sort of mic connected to it? is there any other trouble i should be worried about? So far the quality of the actual footage is great. Please respond. Thanks!

the audio issue was fixed with the new firmware and is a non issue now

here in england you can get the ultra hd for like £120 but the new samsung is £150..

so the ultra would work out cheeper.. but if the audio on the samsung is good then i would pay the extra £30 to get the samsung

The Ultra is priced much higher and lacks many features the Kodak does. Same with the Samsung.

When the Ultra and the Samsung are the same price, then you can compare.

i really would strongly recomend either the flip ultra hd or the samsung hmx-u10 because the audio on the kodak is horrible..
