  • Sit in that boat for an hour you are going to smell like WD40 for the rest of the day. Gross

  • Good news - You know a lot about kayaks. Yeah, baby!

Bad news - You should stick to that.

WD-40 does NOT contain fish oil. That's an urban myth.

It DOES have mineral spirit, machine oil, surfacants and perfumes. Fish attractant? Not even close, sorry...

Bottom line: You're promoting the pollution of our waters with the indiscriminate use of hardware store lubricants. Use Armor All, if you want. Oh, and please read the MSDS on things before recommending them to your viewers.

  • WD40 does attract fish. I know from experience. Spray it on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Soft plastics, too!

  • Wd40 majior corrosive. I sprayed down my rem 1100 and put in dry box for storage. Came home a year later. Shot gun ruined. Pitted every metel surface. WD 40 pure garbage. !!!

  • @MrStarskypuss lol... yeah my friends from Hawaii use that trick for their worms, and it works! They also inflate the worms too! I am not sure if I would want my whole boat smelling like w-d though... could be like chumming... but end up with a bigger fish than you want!!! cough*** shark!

  • WD40 also attracts fish, I spray it on my baits all the time and it WORKS! Don't believe me? Give it a try.

  • @yakntexas How does a kayaker who has his own show not know what 303 is?!? I'd think anyone who wants to take care of their boats would look into a specified product. Rather than use something his buddy grabbed by pure luck. 303 is a Charm

  • I've used WD-40 on plastics before and most of the time, it does seem to be okay, but for my Kayak, I wouldn't consider it. Clean it with Simple Green and then wipe it down with 303. It restores the lustre and provides protection from the sun.

  • Not sure how environmentally friendly this is. I'm no tree huger, but I'm all for clean, non-polluted lakes. Green Rhino advertises itself as the safe alternative--don't know, haven't tried it.
