Has anybody ever hit chords like this on an acoustic guitar? If my last day on earth is spent listening to Townshend it will be time well spent

I suspect this wasn't the case but the Who played a concert in the summer of 1967 in Cleveland at a theater in the round (it was a very large tent) Musicarnival . The band Cryus Erie opened for them with their amps across the middle of the stage (Eric Carmen was the lead singer). I had front row seats but had them for Cyrus Erie. The who started, people couldn't see them, Pete got pissed and wrecked all his amps. They had to use Cyrus Erie amps and the whole show as a freaking disaster...

Cleveland? What is Cleveland? I'd rather be at home, whatever it is.
You blow my mind.

The Sheraton Gibson was in downtown Cinicinnati. It was torn down along with the fabulous RKO Albee theater to make way for the"new Fountain Square
South' what a friggen waste. 11 people died in the crush '"I was there. because the city denied regular door access to rock fans. Oh yes the cops sucked too. Now we are all supposed to love them as "first responders" Tools of the one world order is what they are.

Pete wrote this song on the 70 WHO Tour sitting in the Sheraton Hotel at Hopkins Airport....Book it.

@smurph11267 I think that was in Cincinatti.

Didnt some people die back in the 70's in clevland rushing the stageat a WHO concert?

some of those arpeggios include repeated notes- thats is true of house of the rising sun too. guitar is not a piano. most audience is thick.

I think that Pete did attend a sunny barbeque, in Cleveland, which members of the James Gang were having. In fact, I think the Who, and the James Gang were touring together then, with the latter band as the opening act.
