Inspired by legendary Chilean songwriter and activist Victor Jara's songs Cuando Voy al Trabajo and El Derecho de Vivir en Paz (The Right to Live in Peace), this song is written thinking of the immigrants living in New York City working to send money home to their loved ones. It is also dedicated to the soldiers fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to all people making sacrifices far away from home to improve the lives of those they love.
This recording includes Eleanor Dubinsky on vocals and cello, Vita Tanga on guitar and Scott Morehouse on percussion, engineered by Roman Klun at Innsbruck Studios, NYC.
