Part III: A presentation by Thomas Barnett on the future of the military and the world. Is it the answer to our problems or a modern version of an "East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" (Japanese Fascism)? You Decide!
@miknwv, the difference between americans & arabians is not about israel, it has to do with the fact that arabs have their imperialistic ideas about how the world should be & the americans have their imperialistic ideas about how the world should be. israel is just a single bullet point in a list of conflicting ideas. arabs see themselves as a superior "culture" (even though islam exterminated their culture & replaced it with grovelling, superstition & oppression) and are bigoted about it.
i disagree wtih prod, the arabians have tons of oil and the few businessmen that control it control the rest of the population...the are very much industrialized. However, I do agree with your point that they're very religious but their differences with us are because of our unwaivering support of Irsael, not the simple fact we worship in a different way.
3:35 Big, really big mistake he and Americans in general are doing is that, when facing a society, like Afghanistan and Iraq (to a lesser degree), you are comparing them with an already industrialised society like the German one after the war. But Arabian people for example are much more value oriented, religious values. These societies are then opposed by a capitalist system. Even more if it doesn´t go hand in hand with a national identity.
