Steve G sang it best of all, though I'm using Arlo's lines and chords here. Many other folks have also sung this one, as are many more right here, right now on this li'l video. Eight, I think. The Flying Garbanzo Brothers Trapeze Act and Hootenanny. To those who said it couldn't be done, ha ha, we win. To those who said it shouldn't be done, well phooey. That's what we all say.
Well, except maybe for cousin Pranzo (the autoharp player), but he's a dork.

  • Alonzo. Wonderful performance, wonderful song, wonderful production. I love the straight forward way you present this wonderful but overdone song. It brings it right back to life. And no way is the autoharp or its player dorky.

  • I'll pass that nice thought along to him. And for, uh, "the rest of us", many thanks for such kudos, sir!

Probably didn't even get that right. Ah well.

  • This song always seemed like good lyrics and sideshow music; and thus I never cared for it. But in the hands of the right person (you); to me it is reborn.. As good as the video and production are they are surpassed by the music; as perhaps it should be Just goes to show you it's not always the message but the messenger. This is your best (from an AG musical wannabee),

  • Fived it, faved it, and sending it to a friend soon.
