I just learned about the Bill Barker guitars...
The feb 2011 Vintage Guitar issue has a marvelous article on Mary Osbourne..jazz guitarist with a great history...most of us don't know her...but she gigged with the best and most challenging musicians. They show her guitars, and she had an earlier Barker, with a very similar tailpiece as yours, but I believe the head was more flamboyant...she also had a custom Stromberg and an L5, all shown well, and very much worth drooling at.
