Arnie ran two years on CBS from 1970 through 1972. Should have been on longer. Here are three different openings to this charming series. 1st version is from the pilot episode. 2nd version is from the first season run. 3rd version is from the second season run.

  • Arnie throwing his lunchbox in the air and it turns into his briefcase in mid air then it falls back down and catches it is the equivalent of Mary Tyler Moore tossing her hat in the air and catching it:-)

  • Roger Bowen was Lt. Col. Henry Blake on the M.A.S.H movie from 1969

  • FINALLY someone snagged something from this show. Fave of mine when I was about 5 (1971) & the most remembered episode was when Arnie had his boss's limo accidentally crushed into a cube. THANKS!

  • I recall this series was on Sat. evenings at 8PM. I remember seeing the opening for the 2nd season with him sitting in the defective office chair. For years I never forgot that but didn't know what program it was.

  • Looks like they could use this opening for CBS's Undercover Boss.

  • Sue Ann Langdon was so hot.

  • I was in high school the years Arnie was on. There was only one reason to watch this show. Stephanie Steele was my heartthrob. Seeing her again reminds me that there very likely has never been a more beautiful face that ever appeared in front of a TV camera. I lost track of her after about 1980 and would love to know what she is doing today. Anyone out there that can help me?

  • In the series, Arnie's last name was Nuvo, which was a play on "nouveau riche." Roger Bowen was a hoot as the ultimate WASP, in contrast to Arnie's ethnicity. Sue Ane Langdon had briefly played Alice on the Jackie Gleason Show. Possibly somebody remembered her when Betty White was cast as Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Arnie was not great, but a fun show.

  • @woodchucko The charector is Greek, right? Because he's speaking Greek quite well

  • I heard Arni is Greek?

  • I used to watch this on Satruday nights on CBS as a kid. I love the first season title with the org chart. The music was pretty cool, too. I recall at the end of one episode Herschel chasing Sue Ann around the house while she was in a bikini. I'd have chased her too, if I had been old enough at the time. (I was only 11). LOL!!!

  • My dad liked to point out that, due to safety regulations, Arnie really couldn't have ridden on the forklift the way he's shown in the opening of the show--at least not without creating a lawsuit he would have had to deal with once he got up to his new office.
