Beauty_Chapter Twenty-Seven

I fancy eating some fudge cake..

I raised my hand to my chest, giving a deep breath. "You scared me half to death, Nick!" I whimpered, crashing into his muscular chest. "Sorry," he smiled, waving everyone out of the room.

I watched as everyone left, smiling. I glanced at Denise and saw tears in her eyes. No wonder she was sobbing into the phone. I turned my attention back on Nick, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck. "If you ever do that again, I'll kill you myself," I threatened, resting my head on his shoulder.

Nick only chuckled. "You don't scare me," he said playfully, pulling apart. "Why did you do this anyway?" I asked, taking the rose bouquet in my hands. I smiled, smelling the sweet aroma they left in the room. "I-uh-"

I looked up, noticing his sudden nervousness. "What's wrong?" I asked. He looked up at me, giving a nervous chuckle. "I-uh- need to tell you something," he said, shifting his weight uneasily.

Panic rushed through my body. "You aren't breaking up with me are you?" I asked as tears started to well up in my eyes. "No, no!" Nick laughed, grabbing hold of my free hand. I looked at the door self-consiously, glad the blind was still shut.

I turned back around and saw the sweetest look on his face that made me blush. He wiped away a stray tear that had escaped and smiled lovingly at me. "So, tell me what you wanted to say," I said.

He cupped my cheek, kissing my glossy lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck, bouquet and all. He pulled away and smiled at me, making my heart race in my chest. "I love you, Selena Marie Gomez," he said, barely over a whisper.

My heart raced in my chest and I felt my knees shake. "I love you, too, Nicholas Jerry Jonas," I whispered, tears flowing down my face. "Don't cry," Nick smiled, wiping away my tears. "I'm sorry, I'm just-" I paused, taking a deep, shakey breath. "so happy," I breathed, sitting the roses on the table next to us.

Nick wrapped his arms around my waist, swinging me around. i squealed, giggling as he set me down. The door suddenly burst open and I watched as practically half the building rushing into the room cheering.

I laughed, hugging Nick tightly around the neck. "I love you so much," he whispered in my ear. I smiled. "I love you, too," I said before walking around the room and hugging everyone in the room.
