@F1shard - the MPE will only utilize the 1st card and ignore the 2nd one

@F1shard SLI doesnt work =P

I have a GT 220... moving to a asus gtx 460 1gb OC TOP directcu ( it's like a 560 ).... will give me any improvements?

Well, Senor...Im sure it probably is, along with your food, healthcare, education. Good being an illegal isn't it?
-
I doubt that the tax deductibility of your rig will make it any faster.
-
@V8toytruck Tax deductible? Loser. My rig is totally paid for by the government.

With the new Nvidia Drivers Update not only you have to add you card in cuda_supported_cards.txt but also go to Nvidia Settings ->Manage 3D settings-> (select)Adobe Premiere->Multi-Display/ Mixed-GPU acceleration and set it to Compatibility Performance Mode! Other wise Adode will let you choose GPU acceleration but will NOT USE GPU ACCELERATION! What I have noticed when I run with GPU acceleration it creates files smaller.
Sweet...my gaming rig is now tax deductible! Im wondering if I'll see any benefits w/ SLI'd GTX460. Im running i7 w/ Intel SSD and 12GB of ram.

@V8toytruck I'm curious how SLI will perform. I'm currently running a GTX 570 and it's working great.

Hey F1shard,
Which application were you using to capture the real-time RAM/CPU usage? And GPU usage?
ectobuilder 11 months ago
@ectobuilder They are windows Gadgets. If you have windows vista or 7 they are free to download. "all CPU meter" and "GPU observer" are the ones I am using.

Thank you for the proper comparison. I have a question regarding getting a gtx 260 or gtx 460. I have read that getting a card with ddr5 memory is crucial and that cards with ddr3 memory, such as the gtx 260, should be avoided. It seems like render times were ride on par with each other in your comparison but I really need the 260 for my hackintosh, the 460 is not really an option if I know correctly. Can you comment on this at all?

@tylers8600 I think it really comes down to what processor your matching with the graphics card. I get no increase in performace using the gtx 460 with gddr5 over the gtx 260 OC with the gddr3 memory. Now with a better cpu than a Q6600 at 2.75 ghz it may change that, but I'm not sure until I try it. I'm currently in the market for a new motherboard and CPU. When I upgrade my cpu I will post another video comparing the 2 cards again.
