How futile is this. You're asking the public to change the government? That would be the tail wagging the dog. The politicians that get elected have the most funding... who's going to have more, the do gooder off the street, or the trained salesman in the pocket of the billionaires profiting from the war machine?

The problems talked about here are merely symptoms of the larger issue... that Americans have no control over who they can vote for. The billionaires give you two choices.

"Winter soldier" does not describe deserters. It's a term derived from Thomas Paine's quote:
"The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."
The opposite of a "summer soldier" who "shrinks from service" is someone who will stand strong under the worst conditions, thus they are "winter soldiers".

Yours is just another fantasy from a low-information commenter.

The term was indeed used to describe cowards.

They de humanize us and in return all of them will have 100% of the American youth vote when they run for public office. Their opponents will be shouted down and mob assaulted by their supporters so they wont have to worry about campaigning.

They say popular things so youth will love them. A true patriot says the unpopular thing even if it angers American youth culture. They are cowards who divorced our brotherhood, theyre yours now.

Actually, dehumanizing is the essence of racism; you have totally missed the point there.
If most Marines you know were so fascinated by Arab culture, why do virtually all military members slur the pronunciation of "Iraq"? Do they mean to do that, or are they actually not the least bit interested in the culture?

Why do so many people mispronounce the name of composer Richard Wagner? Is this anti-German racism? You are an idiot, sir, and you've made a ridiculously dishonest non-sequitur.

The liberal media constantly mispronounces Iraq in the anglicised phonetic style, and many Arabs who live in the US say it the same. Most grunts know that Iraq is properly pronounced as ee-rok, but common speech habits are hard to break.

Oh well though, continue to spread your lies and nonsense, little twerp!

Libertarianism is abhorrent of centralized control, communism is based on it. There is not, and cannot ever be any such thing as "libertarian communism. That's as senseless as "Islamo-fascism'!

True but now at least have something to compare comporate news to. I spend a sleepless night watching all the winters soldiers video in one row. After feeling quite horrified, it was strange for me when I picked up the newspapers the next day and saw that on every front pages Tiger Wood was displayed for having cheated on his wife...
If people could see those winter soldiers videos, the war would end tomorrow. And I mean TOMORROW!

I'm not sure about that. Propaganda power is really strong and people -in general- tends to believe things which makes them feel comfortable instead those that makes them feel bad, EVEN when firsts are lies and second are true...

However it's true that Internet has broken the corporate media siege. But just a very little bit... I think not enough to actually change the world.

But the world is changing with or without us. Look at Dubai, China, Latin America, India. All those countries who aren't (at leat not entirely) controlled by the corporates are thriving. They couldn't rebuild the twin towers in eight years, yet the middle east has just finished the construction of the highest building in the world... in five years. Clean energy, cancer cures, those things are coming, we're just missing on it because people are more interested with money. Fuck Wall street !
