This is a technique recommended in the book Plants from Test Tubes by Lydiane Kyte and John Klein. This is a variation using a spoon for mixing. It is quite easy to apply, one person can prepare, dispense and autoclave 30 liters of medium (in our case).
I am working at the Fruit Research Station of Cluj in Romania: www.scdpcluj.ro

I have set up a new technique of ex-vitro acclimation by using uncovered trays and tap water. Some info here:

  • Hi Alex, what method do you use to dispense the media into the vessels? Have a quick, easy, accurate way to fill them?

  • @fbt2007

Well, we just pour them into the vessels when it is about production. I looked up the Internet for pumps for media dispensing but I found none. There are some electronic dispensers that are very expensive. A simpler and more efficient pump would be needed.

  • @Alexafinarul I read about someone using a large coffee urn to heat and dispense the media. Seems like it would be hard to clean though.
