I would have insisted that someone (I'd be willing to do it myself) braced the two logs together so they can't "wander off" before trying that. Ideally, you'd want them attached to the main log with some kind of pivot, too.
Kudos to the fella for having the brass ones to try it, but if it'd gone wrong, everyone would've been calling him a fool for taking such a risk.

@MudBarf the second time we came there, the guys from the park did attached the logs to the main log.. in this movie there was not really a risk, they moved a bit, nut that much, I am the driver of the sam and I was really not scared someting went to go wrong..Under each side of the car two logs were attached, so they never could go sideways.. it looks a lot harder on the movie!!
