Annual reunion and memorial service held the first Saturday in August of each year since the Second World War. In the memorial service, 'Unto The Hills Around Do I Look Up', the hymn of the Regiment, was recited. The video of the service, that would have preceded this one, was too long to successfully be posted here.

  • The monument is located at the Carleton Street Armoury, downtown Fredericton NB The home of the 1st Btn. The Royal New Brunswick Regiment (C&Y). RNBR was formed after the war, combining the Carleton & York and the North Shore Regiments. The monument records all the names of the fallen, and those who have since passed. Thank you C&Y, and may God bless them all.

  • My great uncle, Augusten. E. Rossberg was in the Carleton and York Regiment after serving with the PPCLI in France. He was discharged after Dunkirk, and when the regiment found out he was from New Brunswick, not Alberta, they sent him home. He re-enlisted in 1941, and then was sent to North Africa until 1942 or so when they went to Italy. He was the only Jewish soldier in his company and then went to Holland in 1945.

  • @HilaryMG

My father, Edmond Chiasson, was a Corporal in the Carleton and York Regiment in de D Company 1941-1945. He went in Sicily and Italy and was on front line for 21 months and was wounded 3 times. Now, my father is 89 years old and still in good health, living in his home. If you or any other person would have pictures or information about this regiment, please forward it to me. And I would like to know where I could find that monument of C&Y, the one that we can see on this video.

  • My father is the veteran with the walker...CSM Harold D. E. Sowers. He passed away this last Saturday, at the age of 89.

  • My Grandfather, Murray Bliss Jones, was a Seargent in this Regiment from the time they sailed to Britian to the time they came home.

  • I just loved this, you see my dear Dad was in The Carleton and York Regiment, so Dad this is for you and All theose brave men who fought so Gallantly !
