I'm curious, what's the stroke-to-bore ratio and the ratio of crankpin offset to connecting rod length?

Hey,I have a lawn mower that had the valve head gasket blown,I replaced it,but all I get is a puff sound when I tried to start it,is it possible that the camshaft is broken or out of time,,,I think that the mecanic was mad because I did not want him to fix it,,Im thinking if he did that ,,,any idea

Nicley made up demo for the 4 stroke engine .painted the parts to show differences, and operation, and mounted on wood base maybe have a door knob on what was the fly wheel side. for turning it or hand crank

That's really good, you should attach it to an electric motor and display it running slowly, it'd be a nice educational peice

very good video, but but Tecumseh make crap mowers. look at the valve design, they did't even bother to use rockers. Honda , and Briggs even make ones with overhead cams...
thats a tecumseh engine. camshaft looks like tecumseh and the exhaust and intake are always on the same side. also the piston looks tecumseh style. Overall tecumseh sucks bad. Hate it!!! but good video. First engine i opened was a briggs, loved it since.

Yeah, I think that's right, it was a Tecumeh. It was a cheap lawnmower my brother bought in '85 or so and the frame finally rusted to uselessness. This was a good engine for this project because it was so simple and easy for my son to see how all the parts worked together. Also it did not have a steel cylander, just aluminum, so it was easy to cut with a reciprocating saw.
