Even though Brightman's version is not that depressing, but I think her voice does have its own compatibility with this song because she has such a darkly sad quality in her singing. So I say that she is the perfect voice to sing this song, not because she sounds emotional or depressed but because she sounds emotionless like she is somewhere else while singing...delusional and carried away. A nice portrayal of despair in my opinion.
