NO SIDE: Shinners, Ganley, Socialists, Coir, Eirigi, UKIP, Le Pen, BNP.
YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
because of the Lisbon treaty "citizens will have a voice" ... this couldn't be further from the truth. The Lisbon treaty gives the EU the ability to self amend, i.e the people,s voice will no longer be required in any shape or form. You have a voice now Ireland. If you say yes to Lisbon you'll gag yourself and the whole of the peoples that live within the artificial political structure known as the EU.
Decent,democratic,law-abiding people all over Europe are praying that the brave Irish vote NO again to this MADNESS ! We too want to keep our constitutions and parliamentary democracies ! We too want to keep our health systems, legal systems, school systems, own police and military. Ireland PLEASE say NO again to the 2nd Lisbon PUTSCH attempt ! For yourselves, for your children and for the millions of us denied a say by a tiny un-elected "elite" in Brussels.
Hypocrisy: We're having a 2nd referendum because our decision was rejected by the establishment.
We do have a police force. Interpol has been around for decades. Police forces do co-operate.
We should have solidarity with the peoples of Europe and keep rejecting this treaty which is unwanted by all but the elite.
BTW Kusadasiman it was the yes side that raised the issue of conscription to discredit the No side, but because they were wrong on so much people assumed conscription had to be there
Forget about all the usual red-herrings we get here in Ireland, I am sick to the teeth of listening to the abortion, conscription and other stupid things people seem to be obsessed about for some reason. What we all need is someone to simply explain the issues that in my view are the most serious for us all. The 1st is to discuss the vagueness of the "new" areas of competence and if this is really an issue, the 2nd is the "self-amending" aspects of the treaty and implications of same.

The so called 'legal guarantees' have been shown to be meaningless in the house of lords recently.
Google "Glenys Kinnock Lisbon guarantees"
There therefore is no mandate for holding a second referendum.
