"Trumpet Hornpipe" (The theme tune to the BBC TV series, Captain Pugwash). A tribute to Tom Edmundson, who played the theme for the TV show, based on the same arrangement by Philip Lane.

  • scuse me im an accordion player me self an was wondering which bass chords ye be hittin fer dat there melody

  • @frescoo 4 x C major. 4 x G major. 4 x C major 1 x G major. 1 x D major, then 2 x G major.

    2 x C major, 2 x F maj. 2 x F maj, 2 x G maj.

    The run-down at the end goes as follows C solo/ Cmaj. Counter G (B)/ C maj, Counter F (A)/ C maj, A flat* / C maj chord, G / G maj, Counter G (B) G maj, 2 x C maj.

    * Counter E (G sharp) may be used. Same note, of course. Depends on preference and / or accordion size.

    Hope this is clear.

  • Brilliant. Excellent work. Love the way you finally allow yourself something resembling a smile, towards the end. Would've loved a stuffed parrot on the right shoulder. Thanks.

  • you suck!

  • That's a great piece of playing, I tried to keep up on guitar but lost it in the first bar. I'm going to use your vid as a target but doubt I'll ever get to that speed. You have really nailed it - superb job!

  • Ha Ha, that was cool as.

Ah yes the adventures of Roger the cabin boy and seaman stains aboard the black pig or was it the flying dustman ? its been a long time, I know there were two ships but which one was captain pugwash's I just cant remenber. Any clues out there.

  • Tommy was a mate of mine at Longframlington, Northumberland. He was shepherd on the farm next door. We had some great Sun. nights in Rothbury where he played for his beer!

  • Oh just brilliant. Perfect. The happiest jig in the word. If I could do that, I'd never stop smiling for the rest of my life. Good on you. Happy New Year

  • loved it. do you do weird al?
