"Mommy?" Ellie Brooks said tip-toeing into her mother's room as the clock struck 3 AM. Lexi Brooks, a small-town 19 year old girl trying to get her years through college woke up after hearing her daughter's voice. "Yeah, honey?" "Mommy I can't sleep..can I sleep with you?" Lexi smiled and pushed over so her best friend could sleep with her.
"Peyton, remember that girl you got pregnant in like, your Junior year?" Jake DeHart, Peyton's older brother asked him as they were watching back-to-back movie marathons in their home theatre. Peyton, barely remembering the time, replied with a simple nod, a big lump of regret forming in his throat.
"Do you have her number?" Jake asked smiling.
"Jake, you are not going to make a booty call."
"I'm not, bro. I just want to see how she's doing."
"You weren't even apart of this..what..whay are you even asking this?"
"Peyton, she deserves an apology..that girl could be homeless right now with twins out in the cold begging to do anything for money."
"Lexi would never do that!" Peyton said through his teeth shocked that he remembered her name. Getting up and going to his room, he ran his hands through his damp curls from his nightly shower before the movies. He began searching all over his room looking for Lexi's number.

Lexi had thought about Peyton all the time, never forgetting about what he did to her. Ellie was the only thing Lexi had nowadays. Her mom had kicked her out when she found out that she was pregnant with Ellie and she hasn't talked to her since. Lexi wanted to call her mother everyday so he could have someone who understood her when she told them her feelings. She got up quietly trying not to wake up precious little Ellie and she went to her desk to get the phonebook out. Shuffling through the pages her fingers began scanning for Maria Brooks, her beautiful and caring mother. Finally finding her mothers name, she highlighted it and crept back into the bed so that she could call in the morning.
