The Croc Festival is an event that tours to remote and rural communities in Australia inspiring young people to stay in school, think about their futures and be proud of their cultures.

In Far North Queensland, Thursday Island hosts the Croc Festival where local student Jordan Wymarra is our special guest presenter.

Amongst the backdrop of activities and performances, students get to hear from motivational speakers who make them think about their futures.

  • Tat Whaleboat...mate...you're not a Staffie in th SAS...you're talking to kids...I understand you were trying to emphasise how important education is to them... but mate....bloody hell!...you need to be more diplomatic than that...especially to black kids because most of them just switch off when you get too preachy like that...just sayin' though

  • I remember my first croc festival. I remember myself saying that I wanted to be an security officer, or a carpenter. Look at where I am today. I am a 2nd year student at Notre Dame University Australia doing a BA majoring in Politics. My career is on the path of diplomacy with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

My job title will be much different than the first announcement and proud of it too. Thanks to my deadly family and friends for helping me out a lot.
