hi mate, i need a new exhaust for my DR 600, what should i get? thanks

Staintune Exhaust with the stock air box will dyno tune nicely,,,switch to K&N or anything other than the stock air filter/box assembly and you're cursed to poppity-pop down the road for ever....

What brand panniers/racks do you have set up? Are they good? Any reccomendations when getting racks for a dr650? (I'm in Aus)

Very true, my 2002 Dr 650SE sits at 120km/h all day, 145 if you want. Even with 31,000 Km on it. I don't know how accurate the speedo is when the needle is far to the right, but my Dr has been there. When you are this big, they call you Dr.

Nice to see follow motorbikers help one and other!

Hey mate,
I am not sure what exhaust suits the 600 best, have you checked to see if you can get a Staintune or FMF pipe? I wonder if the pipe from the 650 will fit on the 600 with a few mods...

is this better than the drz 400?

Depends on what you want to do with the bike. I use mine on large transport sections to get to great riding locations. I wouldn't think twice about 700km days of dirt or 3,000km rides. I load it up with days worth of camping gear, thrash it in the bush and ride it to work Monday to Friday. Service intervals aren't as often so you can travel further between maintenance. It does everything that I want and more. The DRZ has a slight more dirt focus but I ride the DR650 everywhere my DRZ buddies do

Thanks for the reply, Yea im looking into getting a dual purpose bike. Ill be doing a lot of both off and on road. How much faster is the 650? I know the 650 is SOHC and the 400 is DOHC.

I believe the DRZ taps out at 120kph (It gets vibey)
The DR is happy to sit on 125kph all day long and I have had mine to 145kph loaded with camping gear/ panniers etc =)

where did u get that tail light?
rogersj31 4 years ago
The tail light is stock standard in Australia. In the States they make DR650s with big ugly ones =)
