Fantastic film . One of my faves ever. Love the atmosphere and sense of impending doom. How come nobody knows this film yet the whole world knows what bloody Dirty Dancing is? Criminal!! And I can't believe so many people "Dont get it". Whatever happened to THINKING about something when you watch it? Maybe you should stick to action movies! The plot is VERY straightforward. What's to not understand. And no, I'm not being smug. I genuinely dont see where the confusion lies.

One 'dislike'?!? I guess the old saying "when a monkey looks in, a philosopher doesn't look out' is made for these occasions. Clearly belonging to one of the "tell me whats going on, I don't get it, whats this mean?" brigade, spoon fed banal corporate hollywood cinema from birth, unable to comprehend ambiguity,mystery,oblique meanings,symbolism or anything that does not announce itself in the kind of 'Ladybird' story lines that we used as an aid to learning what words are. Seminal film...innit!

@nantata I think the mechanic is fixing her dad's car - her dad's stuff is moved into the spare car at the start. Maybe she put the demonic spell on the car, then when 'it' didn't get her dad, it went after him in the spare car ?
