To confuse all: There was a time where the Hammersmith & City Line was a Metropolitan branch, but already served by C stock.

MORE LIKE......... A trip with Jim and Dennis to cover the *whole* of the Metropolitan line on A Stocks before they are replaced by the SHITE Stock.
-
@keithspillett Not just concrete: plastic more like. The A Stock were PROPER trains.

I love U A stock train Rest in Peace

I went to a lecture about the S stock a while back, and people in the audience who are, apparently, 'in-the-know' were moaning that the new trains not only have less seats than the A stock, but those they DO have feel as though they're made of concrete.......
Just to clarify all of the above:- The correct TRC formation is in fact 2 x cravens 1960 TUBE stock driving motor cars (not Cravens A stock surface cars) which were identical (before modifications) to the cravens driving motor cars that are preserved by Cravens Heritage Trains.. plus 1 1973 stock trailer car kitted out with all the TRC gear. Why is this called farewell to the A sock.. it's still running by the way!

Thanks for the info. It was a farewell to the A stock as we were in the area, they're going at some point, and I never go up there anyway! lol

I'm afraid it was a 4 car unit standing in for the TRC. It was wired up inside and we saw it all over the Met - Watford, Uxbridge, Amersham.
