Thank You.

I viewed the video once more and I have to insist on my original comment; Burt Harding comes to me just as a story teller - other people´ s intellectual story teller. I am not sure he has ever experienced what he is talking about in his numerous videos. Why does he need so many videos to communicate something so simple? Why has he attracted so few viewers? He has personified himself with that Ramana Maharshi guy, believing it will help him to really awaken. Good luck. Sorry to be that open.

The deeper one's practice goes, the greater the awakening one experiences. No need to hair split the process between form and content.
The secret of REAL meditation is to keep things really simple and clear. Simply put: "BE STILL [practice meditative stillness], and KNOW I AM [the inner realization of Truth]." Don't intellectualize that which is beyond the intellect, beyond words & thoughts. Just realize "I am" NOW. This is the true, pure and straightforward teaching of Ramana Maharshi.

Don't be misled by the statement (at 0:30) that the practice of meditation does not awaken you. The practice does lead to the awakening by providing the openness and receptivity of consciousness in which the realization (the awakening) can come through. The real meditation is the Be-ing of the Truth, which results from both the practice and the awakening. The deeper one goes, the greater the awakening one experiences. No need to hair split the process between form and content.

@bfrankleebold Actually, the seven words should drop the word "God" at the end. The true and divine Self is a state of pure Being-ness predicated on no-thing, no concept, no idea, no word. Hence, the 7 words should simply state: "Be still, and know that I am."

@MRCRAZYCOOL Yes, in our humanhood or human nature. But we are truly spiritual in Being-ness: God constitutes our individual Being, our Selfhood. That means we are God, there being only one being, one spirit.

@hoogys Soul is spirit; spirit is soul. Atman and Brahman are one. The western Christian concept of soul erroneously separated it from the spirit (God). In advaita, spirit is the only thing there is; hence, soul is spirit individuated.

@laura1521965 The practice and the allowing are really just aspects of the spiritual journey. The former is the form or vehicle the journey requires; the latter is the content or the path on which we journey. The contact between a car's tires and the road's surface lets the car's driver move on his way--the accumulation of mileage. They are not two kinds of meditation. They constitute one process that is the spiritual journey. Like yin and yang forming one complete circle. Keep it simple, clear.

@Evermore425 replace soul with spirit
Burt, let me advocate the classic practise of meditation. Each of us is different, and each of us percieves everything, including everything, in a different way. And, believe me, a lot of people can watch your great videos for years and will be unable to make that magic step - leaving their intellectual perception and experience their being state. For many of these people (including me) the regular practice of meditation provides a good (potential) vehicle for that transition.

As I continue to improve my awareness I begin to just let things happen and see things as they are. I experienced this just talking to the office maid... I just felt at ease and so comfortable and I shared a nice connection with her. I always do.. but now instead of wondering if I'm really coming across as a genuine person I felt that it didnt matter. I truly didn't care about anything in that moment. I just saw her as she was. And everything else as it is. I'm not sure if I made sense to y'all
