Mings troops are dress like theater ushers, and please NASA provide more seats in your rockets.

Youtube has the music. Search for Les Preludes. You'll recognize the theme about 2:30 into it.

@7Tweede7PimpernelE2 :The cave had doors which opened as they approached I think, or some sort of door thing maybe the same colour as the cave to make it hidden.
-
@7Tweede7PimpernelE2 : I don't think it's this one. I know they wore black and had capes and rode horses and hid out in a cave underground and I remember a lightening bolt as their symbol. The series was in black and white, like all before colour tv. Was in the 60's maybe 63-64ish. And they wore full helmets of metal maybe silver colour.

@smacker57 There was a 1940 serial called "Phantom Empire" starring Gene Autry. The empire was underground. Is this the one you're looking for?

It's been a long time since I've seen the opening of the first chapter of the third and last "Flash Gordon"movie serial..and with the original opening titles.

Dang this is same music Hitler used in his newsreels!

Isn't this funny? They are not sitting and wearing seatbelts while flying in their rocket ships! They are just freely standing inside the rocket ships without any harnesses. Unbelievable!
-
@smacker57 You might be thinking of Phantom Empire with Gene Autry, released by Mascot in 1935. The kids had a thunderiders club. Condensed version is called Radio Ranch

This music was on 2 disks when I found it. It is about 1/3 thru the 1st disk. A lot of folks wanted to know who wrote the music a couple of years ago. Curiously the piece is quite short.
are you kidding me?

@Deltapsycho About what?

The music is Les Preludes by Franz Listz.
It's about 15 minutes of "long hair" music.

That's neat to know. Maybe I'll buy a copy, although I know I'll never be able to listen to it without thinking of this serial... like how the William Tell Overture never stops making me think of the Lone Ranger.
