Once considered perhaps the greatest talent of his generation in cycling. Won't judge him for his 'faults' and problems: he had team problems, women problems, driving problems and - drugs problems, but it was hard to dislike Frank. Franky was back in a winnning mood this year. Sadly he died on the age of just 34 on holiday in Senegal. His best year was 1999.

Instances like this should remind us that this is................someones' Son, someones' husband............................someones' father......................Nuff said. I actually lost interest in the road game a few years ago and only learned of FVB's death in David millars' recent biography. Not many like FVB around these days as far as the cavalier attitude and sheer talent goes. RIP FRB...............A troubled genius.
