This is two clips put together but there is NO editing in this vid. Lucy basically had all this down more or less around 4mo old. She was feeling a bit lazy in this vid and slacking on the "sit". We're working on some new stuff right now.... I'm not a professional trainer or anything, this just works for me. Leave a comment or email at michalik.pitr6837@gmail.com

  • what training method did you use. Im guessing clicker training?

  • @Dogitude No, I've heard of it but don't know how to do it. This is my 2nd mastiff so I have a bit of experience after taking a cpl obedience classes with my old dog and reading a cpl books. Basically I rule with an iron fist and she knows it. Its funny watching this vid...shes so much more filled out now and more dialed in. Will be starting protection training soon, she passed her temperament and drive test last wknd (after catching a car prowler the wknd prior!).

  • @michalikpiotr1 by ruling with a iron fist do you mean like you smack her when she is bad or what cause im getting a cane corso and im just looking for some owner advice on the best way to train them?

  • Not at all. I meant that figuratively not literally. Thats a fast way to ruin a dog. U need 2 bond w/ it, have it love u & respect u not fear u & possibly turn on u. I'll be honest w/ u, this breed can be a lot to handle even for an experienced owner. They are stubborn (like most mastiffs) but also dominant. I've had to physically restrain her, sit on her and pick her up so be prepared to man handle a 100lbs+ dog. But, it will make for a happier dog & owner in the end. Very rewarding.

  • WHY THE HELL IS YOUR NAME LUCIFER??????????????

  • @kneel78 Not a lot of space, bear with me. I would teach dual commends for the same thing, ie: sit would be the word "sit" as well as a finger snap. Down would be the word "down" and a pointing motion to the ground. So, later I could get her to do things either way. With the speak, I started with the commend "speak" while holding one finger, then "speak, speak" holding two fingers and so forth. So now, I can just hold the desired number of fingers and she barks that many times. Make sense?

The italian mastiff was the basis Dante based Cerberus on. At least that's what i've read.

  • @michalikpiotr1 NO IM SERIOUS! WHAT THE HELL?

  • @michalikpiotr1 I'll toast to that, lol. It's amazing how HIGH Corso's can jump, I'm always astounded. You've got one beautiful girl on your hands, and I look forward to seeing more vids of you two =)
