  • @Mr360BeasTx Hey, listen. First off, we aren't as used to hurricanes as you guys down south. Also, It's a lot different, the most populated city in U.S on a small island with giant -underground- subway systems which would cost tons of dollars if they were flooded, not to mention the fact that storm surges could easily flood the outscirts of the city. They evacuated and it because they could be in big trouble if they didn't and people died. It would cost millions and millions of dollars to repair

  • Mother Nature is really starting to get pissed off......we need to treat her better.

  • Fake! I was in new York city when it happend!

  • @Beef024 I live upstate! I am used to these storms as we have flooded here every 2-4 years and go with out power for weeks. NYC has no idea! A nd we would bitch. the state would do NOTHING! So we are used to flooding and storms and being treated with disrespect from the city.

  • Joke

  • @gnidich2000 What are you talking about you must know nothing.

  • It could've been a lot worse. Everybody was fortunate. Hopefully municipalities will update any contingency plans that may have been collecting dust.

  • yikes

  • thumbs up if you are a Vermonter.

  • @Jamesallen20002003 I'm talking about Irene and Yasi though, Katrina was worst obviously, but a lot of that was because of how sudden Katrina was, It wasn't as powerful as Yasi at landfall either. I was mainly comparing the physical size of Yasi and Irene.

  • @bobri289 Hurricane Irene wasn't our worst hurricane. I think Katrina was worse than your cyclone.

  • I know the states get more hurricanes then australia, but i think for once australia was worse off with severe tropical cyclone yasi then america was with hurricane irene. Yasi was larger and more powerful, and caused the largest evacuation in the history of queensland with people from over 700km of coast evacuation out of the storms path and destructive winds of at least 120km/h being experienced for up to 7 hours at the landfall point.
