  • Jsem hrdá, že jsem Čech!!:)

  • Maestro Václav Neumann is from my point of view the biggist Czech conductor ever. He was true gentleman, modest and human person, man of brains and musical by nature. Anyway before his career as conductor, he was violinist and violist at the Smetana Quartet :)

  • brilliant,

  • I agree with edgluhrs ! I have CD of Neumann playing 5th Malher with Leipzig radio symphony orchestra... a extraordinary perfomance !

  • Yes, an amazing conductor and an amazing performance here. I love both Neumann's versions of Mahler 5 (Leipzig and Czech PO), and certainly his Martinu recordings.

  • Neumann was one of the greatest conductors of his time. His performances were electrifying in their musicianship and never a single unneccesary movement. The orchestra never disturbed with ego, but rather assisted when needed. Thank you so much Orso for posting this. I cannot understand why hundreds of thousands have not watched it. It should be sine qua non for any conducting student and indeed most conductors today. Conducting wasn't always the profession for clowns as it is in our time.

  • wonderful!!
