Man I have some high hopes for this. The Island sucked, but this is not only the original, it actually looks weirder and better. Fingers crossed.

Hmmn, the evolutionary missing link between "The Defiant Ones" (1958, Sidney Poitier & Tony Curtis) & Logan's Run (1976, Michael York & Jenny Agutter).

I surmise that the extreme lack of hair on display in this movie triggered in George Lucas the profound realisation that: Wookiees! And Ewoks!! Yesss.

I remember seeing this at UB when I was a sophomore or freshman in the student union theatre. I was so moved by it and saw really into the film's message. I loved the chase at the end with the sports cards, THX 1138's leaving (escaping simply by leaving the void) the prison, all the Ohm material, and finally the ending was amazing.

Thanks for mentioning this is the elephant in the room.

In fact It is about the same system but in the island it is shown how the masters do their work, and that they use them as spare parts.

also the ending with the escape has lots of similarities.
